2003-2004 News & Updates

Saturday 8 May 2004

Congratulations to the Monte Carlo, this year's league champs.

Note: Sorry for the delay in posting--computer crashed. Need I say more?

Saturday 17 April 2004

The League Semifinals are now complete and the pairings for the League Finals are prepared.

Good luck in the final match.

Friday 9 April 2004

The League Quarterfinals are now complete and the pairings for the League Semifinals are prepared.

Thursday 1 April 2004

The Division Finals are now complete and the pairings for the League Quarterfinals are prepared.

Please note that the next set of pairings will not be posted until late Friday as I will be out of town. Call your scores in to the usual number (482-4800) and leave the total score on the answering machine.

Friday 26 March 2004

The Division Semifinals are now complete and the pairings for the Division Finals are prepared.

There was a delay in the preparation and posting because in two of the match-ups, the final home teams did NOT report scores, both from the DT. This is not a new rule for the playoffs, it is standard for the entire season. No matter how much you've had to imbibe, PLEASE REPORT YOUR SCORES right after the final game to 482-4800. If it's late, there IS an answering machine.

Thursday 18 March 2004, PM

Addendum: A match that was originally reported as a forfeit was played late last night so is now included in the standings. This match did affect the standings so if you were here before 7pm EDT today, things have change. Please check them again.

Thursday 18 March 2004, AM

The season is now complete and all scores are in. You may see your final Division and League ranks on the Standings page.

The Division Semifinals are now available. They will also be posted at sponsoring locations.

Earlier this week, we lost a long-time member of the league. He would collect the scores then call them in together at the end of the evening for all the DT's teams. Denny will be missed.

Thursday 11 March 2004

There are four (4) missing match results. Check the Match Results or the Standings page to see if you are listed.  Of those four, only one has reported a make-up date. If you are one of the remaining teams, report the make-up date, if it isn't played, or report the result if it was played and just not reported. What ever scores I do not have by the end of Friday 19 March 2004 will be entered as zero(0) for both teams, regardless of whose "fault" it was that no score was reported.

One match to go. Good luck teams.

Friday 27 February 2004

There are only two (2) matches to do. Do your players qualify for playoffs? Be sure they do before they play, if it is contested, the burden of proof lies on you.

There are several missing and rescheduled matches. Be sure they are played by Friday 19 March 2004, the Friday after the last match of the season. Playoff schedules will be drawn up that Saturday. Any matches not played, missing or rescheduled, will result in zero (0) scores for both teams. If you played but it wasn't reported, it will become a zero (0) as well. Check the Match Results page to be sure your matches were reported properly. No changes to standings will be made after the deadline (03/19/04).

Friday 27 February 2004

You may now view the Match Results. Always double check what was reported and what you have. Present any discrepancies immediately with verification. Verbal confirmation from both teams or copies of both teams' score sheets are adequate.

Three matches to go. Are your players qualified for playoffs? They cannot play if they have not played at least one (1) game in at least six (6) matches.

Wednesday 18 February 2004

Only one missing match to go. Come on folks, the season is coming to a close. Let's get that score in so it doesn't remain a zero for both teams.

Monday 16 February 2004

One of the missing matches have been reported. Thank you. For the remaining two, please get them played and reported.

Saturday 7 February 2004

There are several matches missing. Please get these scores turned in. See the Standings page to see if you have a match listed that hasn't been reported.

There are only 6 matches before playoffs. Be sure to get your players qualified. (See Rules.)

Tuesday 3 February 2004

MTU's Winter Carnival is upon us. Those of you who will be building  a snow statue and not playing darts, please call your opponent ahead of time to reschedule your match, then report it to the administrator (email or phone: 482-4800).

Be careful driving out there. It's not just battling the elements this week, there is also a significant amount of Winter Carnival Tourists here who aren't familiar with the roads or the weather.

Wednesday 14 January 2004

Welcome to the New Year. I hope it was enjoyable and safe.

There were four matches not played or not reported last week. One was reported as rescheduled, one was played later and reported after it was played, and the remaining two are, well, who knows? Please report that a match is being rescheduled even if you don't have a specific date and time established.

Tonight begins the second half of the season. Every team has played each other team in their own division twice (or should have). Good luck tonight and for the remainder of the season.

Thursday 18 December 2003

Congratulations to the league members! This is the first time in all the years I have been collecting scores that all the matches have been played and the scores have been reported. Again, congratulations!

This was the last match of 2003 The Holiday Break begins. Have a joyous holiday season and come back safe for 2004.

Remember, if your team will not be available to play on 1/7/04, please call your opponent and reschedule  then report the rescheduling to me, if you have not already done so.

Sunday 14 December 2003

My thanks to the teams who got their missing scores in last week. All missing match scores are now in.  There is only one match (11/12/03 BL @ PB1) that was reported as rescheduled. Please get it played soon. One more match before the holidays.

Thursday 03 December 2003

The Holiday Break is coming. Finlandia is on break for the 17 December 2003 match and Michigan Tech doesn't go on break until after the last match of 2003. Michigan Tech will still be on break when the season resumes on 07 January 2004. Finlandia's web site doesn't list an academic calendar for 2004 yet so I don't know when they will be back in session.

ATTENTION STUDENTS: You know when your breaks are. Reschedule or play ahead of time. Please do not be irresponsible and just don't show up.

Thursday 13 November 2003

The standings from each week will now be archived on the web site and will be available for viewing. The listing will be on the Standings page as well as each archived week.

Remember to report any rescheduled matches (482-4800 or email) to avoid point penalties. Teams who don't make any contact for 3 weeks or more are in danger of incurring more than just point penalties.

Wednesday 22 October 2003

Attention South Division: The Village Pub does NOT have a team so will be treated as a Bye for the entirety of the season. Each team that has had contact with them, your match will be adjusted to reflect this.

Attention East Division: The DT3 Delta Sigma Phi does NOT have a team so will be treated as a Bye for the entirety of the season. Each team that has had contact with them, your match will be adjusted to reflect this.

The standings update was delayed due to technical difficulties that have now been resolved. They are posted. You may also view previous weeks standings through the main standings page.

If there are any statistics that teams would like to see included, please forward your suggestions.

Tuesday 7 October 2003

Schedules are prepared and supporting documents are now available here and on the announcement list web site. Physical papers will be delivered today.

Sorry for the delay but there were a significant number of teams who were not present and accounted for on the schedule creation date so had to be tracked down.

Welcome to the 2002-2003 Season.

You can Register online now.
